Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the strengthening of India-United Kingdom relations on Thursday, saying that the alliance has opened up “unprecedented” chances for innovation, economic growth, and global cooperation.
His comments followed a meeting with Yvette Cooper, the UK foreign secretary, who is making her first official visit to India since taking office. After the meeting, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the great strides taken in bilateral relations over the past few years.
He emphasised that new opportunities are opening up in a variety of areas thanks to the growing India-UK engagement and underlined the two countries’ resolve to collaborate for the benefit of humanity.
Also emphasized by the prime minister was the role of the India-UK Vision 2035 framework in charting the course of bilateral cooperation in the years to come. Cooper met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar earlier in the day in New Delhi for extensive discussions.
In his remarks to the visiting minister, Jaishankar characterized the relationship between India and the United Kingdom as an ambitious partnership based on common economic goals, technical cooperation, and strategic objectives.
He brought attention to the fact that bilateral cooperation is still growing in various key areas where both countries have an interest.
