A domestic competitive offer has been requested by NTPC Green Energy Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, to put up a Hydrogen Refuelling Station (HRS) at Kandla, Gujarat, as part of the Green Hydrogen Mobility Project.
The project is being advertised as a turnkey operation, encompassing design, engineering, supply, construction, commissioning, and ten years of operation and maintenance. Eligible bidders are being sought after in the tender (IFB No. NGEL-CS-H2-GUJARAT-001(R)). The project owner will supply the electrolyser system that will be integrated with the hydrogen refuelling station. The system has a capacity of 210 kg per day. A complete hydrogen ecosystem, including compression, storage, dispensing, and safety technologies, will be delivered by the winning bidder.
In addition to building an office-cum-switchgear complex, the project will incorporate civil and electrical works, as well as the integration of HT systems. May 21, 2026 is the deadline for submitting bids; on May 22, 2026, techno-commercial bids will be opened. Bidders who are interested are required to deposit ₹1 crore as a security. According to the Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order, only Class-I and Class-II local suppliers are allowed to participate.
The energy and process sectors have specific requirements for bidders, including relevant work history in EPC execution, hydrogen refuelling, hydrogen generation, and CNG refuelling infrastructure. If it comes to money, bidders need to have a certain amount of turnover and net worth, with ₹59 crore being the average for the last three fiscal years.
