Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 is a program by NTPC Bongaigaon and the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club to increase cleanliness and hygiene education in schools and communities throughout India. One hundred female students at Salakati M.E. School were given Swachhata and hygiene kits as a component of the CSR-driven initiative, which aimed to teach the girls the value of maintaining good personal hygiene and sanitation.
Class VI–IX students actively participated in a painting competition earlier as part of the campaign, which focused on cleanliness and environmental awareness. In an effort to reach a wider audience, the organization held signature campaigns, Swachhata-themed events, and selfie booths at local schools, inspiring children to be positive role models for cleanliness in their communities.
Dr. Olie Mitra, a paediatrician at NTPC Bongaigaon Hospital, also held an awareness session to educate students on the need of maintaining good personal cleanliness, sanitation, and lifestyle habits.
In addition to NTPC representatives, school administrators, instructors, and students, the event was graced by the presence of Kasturi Maitra, President of the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club. She gave students high marks for their involvement and urged them to become changemakers in their communities by raising awareness about the importance of personal hygiene.
This effort is a reflection of NTPC Bongaigaon’s ongoing commitment to community development through corporate social responsibility interventions. It aims to raise knowledge about health, cleanliness, and environmental responsibility.
