BPCL Signs LNG Deal With Eni to Boost Sourcing Flexibility and Energy Security

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has signed a Master Sale and Purchase Agreement (MSPA) with Italy’s Eni S.p.A. at the Gastech 2026 conference in Bangkok. This strategic framework enables future liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply and trading opportunities, supporting BPCL’s effort to build a flexible sourcing portfolio.

Key Framework Details as BPCL Signs LNG Deal With Eni

The agreement establishes a structured pathway for long-term commercial collaboration between the state-run Indian refiner and the Italian energy major. Senior executive teams from both organizations executed and exchanged the agreement:

  • Event Location: Gastech 2026, Bangkok

Strengthening Supply Ecosystems and India’s Energy Security

This MSPA allows BPCL to diversify its international import channels and secure competitive gas supplies for the Indian market. By partnering with Eni S.p.A., BPCL enhances its global gas trading presence and reinforces national energy security through diversified supply routes.

The move marks another step in BPCL’s strategy to expand global LNG alliances, optimize energy procurement costs, and meet expanding domestic energy consumption.
