Bharat Dynamics Posts Weak Q4 Results With 59.5% Profit Decline

Profit and revenue during the fourth quarter of FY26 fell dramatically as a result of weaker operational performance, according to defence PSU Bharat Dynamics Ltd. (BDL).

According to the company’s stock exchange filing, the net profit for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 26 was Rs 113 crore, down from Rs 273 crore in the same period of fiscal year 25. This represents a year-on-year decline of 59.5 percent.

In comparison to the same period last fiscal year, revenue from operations fell 73% to Rs 480 crore in the January-March quarter.

Compared to the previous year, operating EBITDA dropped 81.5% to 55.2 crore rupees, from 299 crore rupees.

Profitability appears to be under strain as the company’s EBITDA margin shrank to 11.5% from 16.8% in Q4 FY25.

The profit before tax (PBT) for the current fiscal quarter was Rs 153 crore, down from Rs 378 crore in the same quarter last year.

BDL’s overall revenue for the March quarter fell 68% year-on-year to 599 crore rupees, down from 1,876 crore rupees in the same period last year.

The company’s board of directors recommended a final dividend of Rs 0.40 per share for FY26, notwithstanding the poor quarterly performance. Each share has a face value of Rs 5.

The dividend will be distributed within 30 days after the approval of shareholders at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), according to the firm.

The BSE share price of BDL was 3.51 percent lower, at 1,283.40 rupees, just before the earnings announcement.

The defence stock has been quite volatile recently, down 1.57% in the last week, 5.65% in the previous two weeks, 1.43% in the last month, and 13.33% so far this year due to general market weakness.
