President Donald Trump announced a successful US military operation in Caracas that resulted in the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Celia Flores.
During a press conference at Mar-a-Lago, Trump described the mission, named Operation Absolute Resolve, as highly complex and executed with overwhelming American military power.
The operation involved over 150 aircraft and was conducted without American casualties or equipment losses. Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine noted that the operation followed extensive planning and coordination among military and intelligence agencies.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio explained the necessity for secrecy, stating that Congress could not be notified in advance due to the mission’s nature.
