First Phase of Bihar Assembly Elections Sees 60.13% Voter Turnout Till 5 p.m.

A turnout of 60.13% was recorded by 5 p.m. on November 6 during the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, covering 121 seats across 18 districts.

Begusarai district led with 67.32% turnout, while the Bachhwara seat saw the highest participation at 69.67%. Up until 3 p.m., 53.77% of eligible voters had cast their ballots, with Patna showing the lowest turnout at 48.69%.

Overall, 1,314 candidates were contesting, and 3.75 crore electors were eligible. The polling process was reported to be peaceful, with 15 battalions of security forces deployed to ensure safety across the regions.
