India and Israel Sign Investment Agreement to Strengthen Trade Ties

India and Israel have signed a Bilateral Investment Agreement to enhance economic ties and boost mutual investments.

The pact, signed by Finance Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Bezalel Smotrich, aims to provide greater certainty and protection for investors through mechanisms like independent dispute resolution and safeguards against expropriation, while preserving regulatory rights.

The agreement is expected to increase bilateral investments, currently at $800 million, and foster collaboration in sectors including cybersecurity, high-technology, fintech, and infrastructure development. Both nations also expressed solidarity against terrorism.
