SAIL Signs ₹854 Crore BoP Contract with SEPC

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has signed a ₹854 crore Balance of Plant (BoP) contract with SEPC Ltd for the 4.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) Pellet Plant at its IISCO Steel Plant (ISP) in Burnpur, West Bengal.

The contract marks a milestone in ISP’s ongoing expansion programme, which aims to increase its crude steel production capacity to 4.08 MTPA. The proposed pellet plant will form an important part of the upstream facilities needed to support higher steel production.

SAIL Strengthens IISCO Steel Plant Infrastructure

The new pellet plant is expected to strengthen ISP’s production capabilities by supporting its expanded steelmaking operations. The project forms part of SAIL’s broader efforts to modernise its facilities and develop the infrastructure required for future capacity growth.

The contract also reflects the importance of upstream facilities in supporting steel production. As SAIL advances its expansion plans, the project will contribute to the infrastructure needed to meet its long-term production targets.
