TCS Expands Indian Bank Partnership into Sri Lanka

Tata Consultancy Services has expanded its partnership with Indian Bank by deploying TCS BaNCS for Treasury at the bank’s Colombo branch in Sri Lanka. The deployment marks the platform’s entry into the Sri Lankan market.

Following successful implementations across Indian Bank’s operations in India and at GIFT City in Gujarat, TCS BaNCS for Treasury is now being extended to the Colombo branch. The deployment will provide a unified approach to treasury management across the bank’s domestic and overseas operations.

TCS Supports Indian Bank’s Overseas Treasury Operations

TCS will help Indian Bank modernise its overseas treasury operations, covering money markets, investment management and foreign exchange. The platform will support unified deal processing, real-time position visibility, stronger risk and limit controls, and compliance-ready reporting.

It is expected to reduce manual intervention, improve straight-through processing and strengthen audit and regulatory readiness through a single source of truth. The platform will also give the Colombo branch greater control over foreign exchange and market risk exposures, faster deal execution and settlement cycles, and improved regulatory reporting.

A consolidated view of positions, limits, liquidity and exposures will further support strategic decision-making.

Indian Bank Highlights Need for Treasury Modernisation

S. Viswanathan, CEO, Indian Bank Sri Lanka Operations, said, “As our treasury operations in Sri Lanka evolve, we need a platform that can support growth with greater control, transparency and operational agility. We are happy that we have chosen TCS BaNCS for Treasury which has already proven its capability for Indian Bank’s India and GIFT City operations.”

Venkateshwaran Srinivasan, Global Head, Financial Solutions, TCS, said, “Treasury transformation today is about more than automation—it is about enabling banks to operate with speed, insight and confidence in dynamic market environments. With TCS BaNCS for Treasury, we are proud to support Indian Bank’s overseas business in Sri Lanka.”

The deployment extends the TCS–Indian Bank partnership into another international market, with a focus on strengthening treasury controls, operational efficiency and regulatory reporting at the Colombo branch.
