Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has appointed Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem (DIN: 10622394) as Director (Production) of the company.
The appointment follows a letter issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on September 21, 2026. The ONGC Board of Directors approved his appointment.
ONGC Director Production Appointment and Tenure
Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem has assumed charge as Director (Production) with effect from September 21, 2026.
His tenure will continue until his superannuation on September 30, 2029, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
He has also been serving as Designated OSD (Production) at ONGC, according to a September 2026 PIB release.
Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem’s Professional Profile
Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem is a Mechanical Engineer with more than three decades of experience in ONGC. He started his career with the company in 1991 at the Mumbai High offshore oilfield.
He later completed a master’s degree in International Business. During his career, he has handled several operational and leadership assignments within ONGC.
His experience includes serving as Asset Manager of Assam Asset at Nazira and holding leadership responsibilities at the Mumbai High Asset.
He has also worked with ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL). His experience there includes deepwater operations, business development and field development planning.
Experience Across Oil and Gas Operations
Nettem has also been associated with the joint venture linked to the Mangala oilfields in Rajasthan. He was involved in activities related to the development of the project and the commissioning of the heated crude oil pipeline from Barmer to Bhogat.
He currently also serves as Chairman of Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL), a joint venture involved in developing the natural gas pipeline network in the North East.
His career spans upstream operations, asset management, business development and energy infrastructure.
ONGC Director Production Role and Disclosure
As part of the appointment disclosures, ONGC stated that Nettem has no inter-se relationship with any other director of the company.
The company also stated that he is not debarred from holding the office of director by SEBI or any other regulatory authority.
The appointment strengthens ONGC’s senior leadership structure as the company continues to focus on its production and upstream operations.
