The Government of India has assigned ITS officer Suresh Chandra Rajeev AAI CVO additional charge to lead vigilance operations at the Airports Authority of India.
ITS Officer Suresh Chandra Rajeev AAI CVO Role
Shri Suresh Chandra Rajeev belongs to the 1997 Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) batch. He currently serves as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) for two critical aviation regulators: the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) in New Delhi.
Terms and Duration of the AAI Appointment
Under the new order, Shri Rajeev will hold the additional charge until April 2, 2027, or until a regular CVO assumes duty at AAI. The appointment remains subject to further government orders, whichever event occurs first.
Official Approval and Administration
The Ministry of Civil Aviation submitted the proposal to strengthen oversight across public aviation assets. The Competent Authority approved the request, and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) formally issued the assignment order on September 15, 2026.
With this appointment, Shri Rajeev consolidates vigilance oversight across the DGCA, BCAS, and AAI, streamlining compliance and governance across key civil aviation bodies.
