Kigali, Rwanda, will host the Nuclear Energy Innovation Summit for Africa (NEISA 2026) from May 18–21. Rwanda has extended an invitation to India to attend the summit. Union Minister Jitendra Singh received the invitation personally from Rwanda’s high commissioner to India, Jacqueline Mukangira. The minister, who is unable to attend the summit in person, has reportedly consented to participate online and speak at a specified session, as reported by the Department of Atomic Energy.
Joined by prominent international institutions such as the World Nuclear Association, UN Economic Commission for Africa, Nuclear Energy Agency, and International Atomic Energy Agency, the conference is set to take place at the Kigali Convention Centre.
During the conference, representatives from both sides discussed ways to strengthen their cooperation in areas such as digital capacity building, atomic energy, innovation, and science and technology. Collaborations in cutting-edge fields like AI, biotech, and space tech were also on the table.
