Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), through its Institute of Reservoir Studies (IRS) in Ahmedabad, has hosted two specialised knowledge-exchange programmes for professionals from PetroVietnam. The initiative builds on the longstanding energy partnership between India and Vietnam and focuses on sharing technical expertise in reservoir management and field development.
The programmes brought together professionals for technical discussions, laboratory exposure and field visits, creating opportunities for collaborative learning and the exchange of industry knowledge.
ONGC PetroVietnam Training Focuses on Reservoir Management
The first programme focused on Reservoir Management and Production Enhancement, covering an area central to the effective management of oil and gas reservoirs. It provided a platform for participants to exchange knowledge and explore technical approaches related to reservoir management and production enhancement.
The second programme addressed Declaration of Commerciality (DoC) and Field Development Plan (FDP) – Reserve to Revenue. The programme focused on these aspects of field development, bringing attention to the processes involved in assessing reserves and planning their development for commercial value.
Through technical sessions, laboratory exposure and field visits, the participants gained opportunities to engage with specialised knowledge and exchange professional experience.
Strengthening India-Vietnam Energy Cooperation
Beyond technical learning, the initiative reinforces the longstanding association between ONGC, ONGC Videsh and PetroVietnam. The knowledge-exchange programmes support continued engagement between the organisations and create avenues for further cooperation, innovation and shared progress in the energy sector.
ONGC’s Institute of Reservoir Studies in Ahmedabad served as the platform for these specialised programmes, enabling professionals from PetroVietnam to engage with India’s technical expertise in reservoir studies and field development.
The initiative highlights the role of knowledge exchange in strengthening professional capabilities and fostering cooperation across national energy sectors. By bringing professionals together around specialised technical subjects, the programmes contribute to the continuing India-Vietnam energy partnership.
