NLC India Hosts 25th Edition Featuring 130+ Publishers and Diverse Cultural Events

The Neyveli Book Fair 2026, one of the most important literary and cultural events in Tamil Nadu, is going to kick off its historic 25th Silver Jubilee Edition on June 19, 2026. It is commonly considered the second-largest book fair in South India. The event has grown into a significant platform promoting reading, literature, education, and culture across the region, and it is organised annually by NLC India Limited (NLCIL) as part of its social responsibility programs.

The Neyveli Book Fair has expanded from a little literary event to a major festival that draws thousands of people every year, including students, writers, publishers, and culture vultures. It has been going strong for 25 years. With its long history of success in promoting reading among people of all ages, the event has established itself as a major annual event in Tamil Nadu’s literary calendar.

Present at the Silver Jubilee edition’s big inaugural ceremony at Lignite Hall, Neyveli Township, is Shri K. Kailashnathan, IAS (Retd.), Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. In attendance will be senior officers and directors of NLC India Limited, led by Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, who is also the company’s chairman and managing director.

From June 19th through the 29th, 2026, an eleven-day festival will be held, promising a diverse array of literary, educational, cultural, and entertaining pursuits. Among this year’s highlights is the Mega Short Film Contest, an initiative of NLC India Limited and the esteemed Tamil daily Dinamani, which provides an opportunity for emerging filmmakers to exhibit their work.

The literary events at the fair will include author meet-and-greets, literary debates, and daily book release parties. There will also be award ceremonies to honour notable authors, publishers, and literary figures. In addition to showcasing regional talent, the event will serve as a launchpad for poetry and short story collections written by residents of Neyveli and the surrounding areas.

With the participation of over 130 prominent publishing companies from all across India, this year’s edition will bring together lakhs of books spanning several academic fields, including children’s books, fiction, history, culture, education, science, technology, competitive examinations, and literature. Educators, students, researchers, and bookworms from all across Tamil Nadu and the surrounding states are sure to be drawn to the extensive collection.

Students attending public schools in India, especially those from disadvantaged or rural areas, will now have access to free bus transportation thanks to a program run by NLC India Limited. In addition to fostering a love of reading and a commitment to learning throughout one’s life, this program seeks to ensure that all pupils have easy access to high-quality reading materials.

Evening programming at the fair will feature debates, music concerts, dance performances, and cultural shows put on by famous artists and personalities from Tamil Nadu, turning it into a lively cultural hub. The literary festival is sure to be much more exciting and entertaining thanks to these offerings.

In order to make things better for everyone, we have set up a number of visitor-friendly amenities. Guests of all ages will be entertained by the venue’s science planetarium model, amusement attractions, clean restrooms, plenty of parking, and free medical camp. Over the course of the eleven days of festivities, these preparations should make the event a pleasant place for families to visit.

The Silver Jubilee edition of the Neyveli Book Fair, being hosted by NLC India Limited, is a celebration of the organization’s dedication to education, information sharing, cultural enrichment, and community development.
