NHPC has appointed Rajesh Kumar Singh, IRSS (2002), as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) on an additional-charge basis. Singh assumed the charge on October 6, 2026. He will hold the position for six months or until a regular CVO is appointed, whichever is earlier.
Singh is currently serving as CVO of Power Finance Corporation. He brings more than 24 years of experience with Indian Railways across vigilance, procurement, IT and materials management.
NHPC Leadership and Vigilance Role
Singh will oversee the vigilance function at NHPC, a Navratna enterprise of the Government of India and one of the country’s leading hydropower companies. His appointment comes with a broad mandate covering vigilance and administrative oversight.
He has been given the additional charge for six months from the date of assumption. The arrangement will also remain in place until the appointment of a regular CVO or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Rajesh Kumar Singh’s Professional Experience
Singh is an engineering professional with a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from IIT Roorkee. He also holds an M.Tech in Communication Systems from IIT (BHU), Varanasi. In addition, he has completed a Senior Leadership Programme covering Singapore, Malaysia and China.
During his career with Indian Railways, Singh has held several key positions. These include Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations), NER, Banaras Division, and Chief Materials Manager at Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli.
His experience covers several critical functions. These include procurement, vigilance, information technology and materials management. His current role at Power Finance Corporation also gives him experience in vigilance administration within the public-sector framework.
Singh’s additional charge at NHPC brings this experience into the organisation’s vigilance and administrative structure. His background across railway operations, procurement and public-sector management will support the role during the interim period.
