Manohar Lal, the Union Minister of Power, Housing and Urban Affairs, unveiled a ₹50 Commemorative Coin on November 6, 2025, in New Delhi to celebrate NHPC’s 50th anniversary.
The event featured notable figures including Secretary (Power) Pankaj Agarwal and CMD Bhupender Gupta. The minister emphasized the coin as a recognition of NHPC’s legacy in contributing to India’s energy independence.
A special comic book, “Chhota Bheem aur Bada Bandh,” was also released to educate children and the public about hydropower.
Gupta expressed gratitude to the minister and highlighted NHPC’s achievements in hydropower and its diverse projects in solar and wind energy, underscoring NHPC’s role in advancing India’s clean energy goals.
