IREL Inaugurates Rare Earth & Titanium Theme Park in Bhopal

The Rare Earth and Titanium Theme Park (RETTP) near Bhopal was inaugurated on May 10, 2026, by IREL (India) Limited, marking a significant milestone in the effort to fortify India’s vital minerals ecosystem. Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy, cut the ribbon at the facility, which was attended by Shri Sarada Bhushan Mohanty, CMD of IREL (India) Limited. Rare earth elements and titanium are vital to modern industry, and this campaign is a big step in getting the word out about that.

A groundbreaking platform showcasing the many applications of rare earth and titanium materials across industries like renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, electronics, and military, the Rare Earth and Titanium Theme Park was built. With the goal of fostering innovation and technical outreach, the park presents scientific ideas and real-world applications in an effort to close the knowledge gap between academics, industry, and the public at large.

The initiative is in line with India’s larger goal of being self-sufficient in vital and strategic minerals. Domestic competence in rare earth elements and titanium is critical for long-term economic and technological progress since these materials are necessary for manufacturing high-tech products and supporting developing sectors. The goal of this project is to encourage startups and entrepreneurs to look into potential prospects in the critical minerals industry for commercial-scale operations.

The increasing interest in India’s ecosystem for advanced materials and rare earth elements was evident in the diverse attendance at the opening ceremony, which included senior officials, scientists, employees, and aspiring entrepreneurs. With this event, IREL once again demonstrated its dedication to nation-building, innovation, and technological advancement, thus solidifying its position as an integral part of India’s strategic materials mission.
