The EPC package of the 3×800 MW Meja Supercritical Thermal Power Project Stage-II, situated in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, has been awarded to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) by Meja Urja Nigam Private Limited (MUNPL).
This is one of the major power industry contracts awarded in 2026, with a value of over ₹21,000 crore (without GST), and it was notified to stock exchanges in accordance with SEBI (LODR) Regulations. The deal was given without any consideration of a related-party relationship, according to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. The notification was sent to the National Stock Exchange of India Limited as well as BSE Limited.
Supporting continued development in supercritical power production capacity, this order enhances BHEL’s strong position in India’s thermal power EPC category. The goal is to fulfil rising energy demand and strengthen grid stability.
