APEDA Signs MoU with Gulfood Organiser to Boost Global Agri-Food Exports

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with InD Events Dubai at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi. The agreement secures India’s return as the Official Partner Country for Gulfood 2027 for the second consecutive year, strengthening global trade visibility for Indian exporters.

Commerce Secretary Shri Rajesh Agrawal presided over the ceremony, emphasizing the growing strength of India’s agri-food ecosystem and deeper trade ties under the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Executive leadership formally executed the agreement:

  • APEDA Signatory: Dr. Saswati Bose, Secretary, APEDA
  • Gulfood Representative: Mr. Mark Napier, Vice President (Exhibitions Department and Growth for Food & Hospitality), InD
  • Key Attendees: Shri Nitin Kumar Yadav (Additional Secretary), Shri Abhishek Dev (Chairman, APEDA), and Smt. Priya P. Nair (Economic Advisor)

Empowering Exporters and Expanding India-UAE Trade Channels

Scheduled for 15–19 March 2027 in the UAE, Gulfood 2027 provides a direct platform to connect Indian exporters with global buyers across the GCC, Middle East, and Africa. The 2027 edition focuses on value-added, premium, and innovative food products.

Crucially, the partnership prioritizes wider participation for MSMEs, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), startups, and women- and SC/ST-led exporters. Through curated B2B buyer-seller meets, the initiative helps emerging producers access high-value international markets.
