Tuesday will see a high-level meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Secretaries of all central government ministries and departments. The purpose of the meeting is to assess the development of important reforms that have been implemented to improve the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB), the Ease of Living (EoL), and to speed up India’s progress towards Viksit Bharat.
Streamlining laws, improving administrative efficiency, promoting Atmanirbhar Bharat, and improving public service delivery will be major topics of discussion during the conference, which will assess the government’s reform plan in detail, according to official sources.
This will be the Prime Minister’s second full meeting with senior government officials, and it is set to start at 4:30 p.m. The goals of the review are to expedite the execution of important programs by identifying implementation obstacles, evaluating progress against timeframes, and strengthening collaboration within ministries.
The government’s larger goal of creating a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) through reformed governance, digital transformation, and administration focused on citizens would be the framework for the debates. With the introduction of the ambitious “52 Reforms in 52 Weeks” initiative, which establishes well-defined deadlines for executing governance reforms in many ministries, including the Ministry of Railways, the evaluation takes on greater importance.
Periodic review sessions are an essential component of the government’s form of governance, as Prime Minister Modi has often emphasised the significance of time-bound implementation and measurable achievements.
The initiative’s improvements, including any obstacles or future plans of action, should be detailed in reports submitted by the secretaries. Following his three-day State Visit to the Seychelles, where he was invited by President Patrick Herminie to attend the Golden Jubilee National Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour, Prime Minister Modi returns home to immediately begin the high-level governance assessment.
The prime minister spoke with Indian diaspora members at the airport before leaving for New Delhi, and he also laid floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Peace Park in Seychelles.
During the visit, the two countries’ leaders inked a slew of agreements that would boost their bilateral connections in a variety of areas, including commerce, healthcare, digital cooperation, renewable energy, maritime security, and development collaboration.
