MSME Growth and Market Access in Focus at BVM 2026

West Bengal MSME development is in focus at the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav (BVM) 2026, where the state is showcasing its manufacturing base, traditional industries and emerging enterprises. The state’s participation highlights its efforts to expand market access, improve business support and connect local enterprises with national and international buyers.

The four-day event brings together traders, MSMEs, manufacturers, industry bodies, institutions and policymakers. West Bengal is using its dedicated MSME pavilion to showcase products and initiatives across traditional crafts, manufacturing, technology and entrepreneurship.

West Bengal MSME Sector Showcases Business Opportunities

The West Bengal pavilion was inaugurated by Shri Dipak Barman, Minister-in-Charge, Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Textiles, Government of West Bengal.

The pavilion features traditional artisans, district-specific products, manufacturers and technology-enabled enterprises. The showcase aims to connect local businesses with new markets while highlighting opportunities across the state’s MSME ecosystem.

The state is also using the platform to highlight digital initiatives designed to make entrepreneurship more accessible. These include measures focused on market access, finance, technology, information and government support.

MSME Roadmap Focuses on Infrastructure and Finance

West Bengal’s roadmap for the MSME sector includes several measures aimed at improving the operating environment for small businesses.

The proposed focus areas include single-window clearance for MSMEs, development of industrial parks and expansion of support under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.

The state also plans to introduce an Udyam Credit Card facility in West Bengal. The initiative is aimed at improving access to credit for eligible MSMEs.

Other priorities include creating a global platform for the state’s MSMEs and artisans and working with the Central Government to maximise the use of various schemes in the state.

Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav Targets Business Networking

The Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 is positioned as a large multi-sector trade platform focused on business networking and market discovery.

The event brings together more than 20 Central Ministries, state governments and Union Territories. It is expected to feature over 1,000 exhibitors, 2 lakh business delegates, 5,000 international delegates and 500 trade associations.

The organisers also expect the event to provide access to more than 10 lakh customers. This could create opportunities for business-to-business partnerships, supplier relationships and direct market access.

For West Bengal, the event provides a platform to connect its MSMEs and artisans with buyers, investors and industry stakeholders. The focus on infrastructure, credit, digital platforms and market access also reflects the broader priorities shaping the state’s MSME development strategy.
