An all-inclusive “superapp” that integrates coding tools, AI agents, picture generating capabilities, and third-party services into one ecosystem is supposedly in the works at OpenAI, with the goal of transforming the widely used AI platform into ChatGPT. This is all part of the company’s larger plan to boost enterprise usage, diversify revenue, and stand out in the AI sector, which is getting more competitive.
Several current and former OpenAI employees have spoken out about the company’s plans to revamp ChatGPT, turning it into a more comprehensive digital platform rather than just a conversational chatbot.
It is said that the revamped user interface will direct users to specialised services and tools, allowing them to do a variety of things including code, create content, generate images, organise trips, and manage productivity all inside the ChatGPT environment.
This effort exemplifies OpenAI’s goal of building a cohesive AI ecosystem that can keep up with new AI platforms, attract more users, and generate more revenue.
The revamp prioritises Codex, the AI-powered coding platform by OpenAI.
Developers and enterprises will be able to take advantage of software development tools straight from the platform, according to the study, as OpenAI will make coding features more available through ChatGPT.
Codex is a key component of OpenAI’s expanding commercial operation, as the majority of its users are allegedly paying members.
