REC Limited has pledged ₹1.40 crore as part of its CSR initiative to set up ‘Green Innovator Immersive Learning Labs’ in 10 public schools in the Karnal district of Haryana. These labs will be used to promote skill development and education that is enabled by technology.
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi’s (IITD) technology innovation hub, the I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), will carry out the project’s implementation.
At REC Limited’s corporate office in Gurugram, Arun Kumar Tyagi, Executive Director (CSR), and Ashutosh Dutt Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of IHFC, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the initiative.
By utilising state-of-the-art digital resources like 3D learning platforms, STEM-based educational modules, Augmented Reality (AR), and Virtual Reality (VR), the ‘Green Innovator Immersive Learning Lab’ project hopes to enhance students’ experiential and technology-driven learning.
Students will be better prepared for technology-led jobs and the changing digital economy with future-oriented skills like coding, robotics, innovation, and digital literacy, which will be a focus of the initiative.
REC stated that the project is in line with its corporate social responsibility strategy, which aims to support education and build stronger learning ecosystems through innovation and technological intervention.
By increasing their exposure to immersive and hands-on learning methods, this initiative aims to help students in public schools close the digital readiness gap and close the access gap to technology.
Through this partnership, REC Limited is able to further its CSR initiatives, which aim to promote inclusive education and equip young people with employability skills.
