After the completion of the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process, REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has transferred to Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) the project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) Umred Power Transmission Limited.
The intra-state transmission project in Maharashtra was bid on by RECPDCL, a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited under the Ministry of Power. The project was secured by MSETCL using the BOOT model, which stands for Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer. There will be a 24-month implementation timeline.
Building a 400/220/132 kV substation at Umred; a 220 kV double-circuit transmission line (51 km) from Umred (New) to Additional Buttibori (Proposed); and a 132 kV double-circuit line (38 km) from Kolari (Existing) to Umred (New), as well as related Line-In-Line-Out (LILO) works, are all part of the project scope.
Regional grid dependability and the intra-state transmission network of Maharashtra are both anticipated to be improved by the project.
