India’s largest steel major Maharatna PSU, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), has earned the coveted honour of Great Place to Work designation for February 2026 to February 2027 for the third time in a row, following a company-wide review by the Great Place to Work Institute, India. The esteemed award shows how hard the PSU organisation works to create a modern, career-focused, and growth-orientated workplace culture.
Based on the extensive company-wide survey carried out by the Institute, SAIL has received a certificate of TRUST INDEX® score with a significant increase in an indicator of the percentage of employees providing positive feedback during the evaluation. Through a thorough review process, the Great Place to Work Institute, a worldwide authority on workplace culture, recognises companies that provide outstanding employee experiences.
SAIL has consistently implemented progressive HR initiatives, the most recent of which is SAIL DARPAN, a step towards a transparent, performance-orientated workplace where goal-setting and evaluation are in line with organisational objectives while enabling staff to maintain growth.
Further, the significant project also offers domain‑change possibilities for executives through specialised training programmes under MoUs with prominent IIMs (Kozhikode, Bangalore, Jammu, Raipur, and Ranchi) and famous institutes like XLRI and ASCI, focusing on marketing and HR.
CMD SAIL Shri Amarendu Prakash commented on the occasion, saying, “We at SAIL are happy to have earned the ‘Great Place to Work’ designation for the third year in a row. Our employees’ faith in the company and the culture we are creating together is reflected in this accolade.
