NTPC Bongaigaon showcased exceptional talent at the Intra Regional Sports Meet (IRSM) – ER-II Football and Cricket Tournaments, achieving commendable results in both sports.
The events culminated in a prize distribution ceremony where the teams presented the trophies to Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, who commended the participants for their discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
In the football tournament, individual accolades were awarded to NTPC Bongaigaon employees, with Narkhw Narzary receiving the Golden Boot Award for his goal-scoring prowess and the Man of the Match award in two matches. Khwmdwn Narzary earned the Golden Gloves Award for his outstanding goalkeeping. Additional Man of the Match titles were awarded to Suraj and Rajib for their significant contributions.
The cricket tournament saw NTPC Bongaigaon securing the Runner-Up position. Abhijit Ghosh was recognized as the Best Bat of the Tournament and for Most Fours, highlighting his consistent batting.
Jitendra Mohanty received awards for Best and Most Sixes, noting his crucial role in the team’s batting lineup. Man of the Match awards in cricket were given to Mukarram, Tamal Kanti Paul, and Jitendra Mohanty for their vital performances.
Arnab Maitra spoke on the importance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and a healthy work-life balance, thanking all involved for a successful tournament.
