NLC India Appoints Chaitanya Prakash as Director (Power)

NLC India has appointed P L S S Chaitanya Prakash as Director (Power). He brings more than three decades of experience in power generation, thermal operations, project execution and clean-energy technologies.

NLC India has appointed P L S S Chaitanya Prakash as Director (Power). He assumed charge at the company’s registered office in Chennai on October 5, 2026.

Chaitanya Prakash brings more than 30 years of experience in the power sector. He has spent most of his career with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC).

NLC India Gets Experienced Power Sector Leadership

During his tenure at DVC, Chaitanya Prakash held senior positions across power generation, projects, operations and maintenance.

Before joining NLC India, he served as Executive Director (Operations) at DVC. In this role, he handled strategic operations and supported the execution of major capital projects.

He also held board-level responsibilities in DVC joint ventures with NTPC Green Energy and Coal India.

Technical and Clean Energy Expertise

Chaitanya Prakash is a Mechanical Engineer. He holds a B.E. degree from Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, Visakhapatnam. He completed the programme with distinction in 1992.

He later earned a PGDM from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, in 2007.

His professional expertise covers thermal power plant operations, boiler efficiency and environmental compliance. It also includes flue gas desulphurisation (FGD), fly ash management and EPC project execution.

He has also worked with emerging clean-energy technologies. These include floating solar, pumped storage projects and battery energy storage systems.

NLC India Focuses on Power and Clean Energy

Chaitanya Prakash’s appointment comes as NLC India continues to expand its power generation and renewable-energy portfolio.

His experience in power operations and project execution is expected to support the company’s generation activities and clean-energy transition.

His appointment also adds extensive technical and project-management experience to NLC India’s leadership team.
