The e-Jagriti platform has digitalised the entire consumer complaint lifecycle and enhanced India’s digital consumer justice ecosystem, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who praised the program’s revolutionary impact on Saturday. The Prime Minister shared an article by Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, on social media and stated that the platform represents a major milestone in the ongoing digital transformation of consumer protection.
There has been an increasing need for a contemporary, technology-driven consumer dispute resolution system, and e-Jagriti was designed after extensive stakeholder engagements, according to the Prime Minister. With the proliferation of online marketplaces, e-commerce platforms, and digital payment methods, the government has prioritised the simplification, acceleration, and accessibility of consumer justice.
The paperless platform, powered by artificial intelligence, unifies four legacy systems: OCMS, e-Daakhil, NCDRC CMS, and CONFONET. It will be launched on January 1, 2025. Online access to dispute resolution services, case progress tracking, and complaint filing are all made possible through the unified system, which customers can use from any location in India or outside.
With a remarkable 90.75 percent disposal rate, more than 2.29 lakh consumer complaints have been recorded through e-Jagriti since its introduction, and over 2.07 lakh instances have been satisfactorily resolved. Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) can now seek consumer justice without returning to India, thanks to the platform.
During fiscal year 2025–26, the government’s changes to consumer justice continued to bear fruit. Consumer commissions received over 1.65 lakh new cases and resolved over 1.52 lakh cases, bringing the yearly disposal rate up to 92.3%. With a disposal rate of 88.84%, consumer commissions handled 34,600 cases in the quarter ending in March 2026.
As a whole, e-Jagriti has been a success, and it shows that the government is serious about using AI, paperless governance, and digital public infrastructure to improve the quality of public services for the people of India in a way that is open, efficient, and focused on their needs.
