India’s largest automobile in-plant railway Gati Shakti Terminal at Maruti Suzuki India Limited’s (MSIL) Manesar facility was inaugurated on 17th July, 2025 by Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini.
Spread over 46 acres within the MSIL Manesar facility, the Gati Shakti Terminal (GCT) is equipped with a fully electrified corridor comprising 4 full-length rake handling lines and 1 engine escape line, totalling 8.2 km of track length.
The first rake was flagged off on 17th July, 2025, from MSIL GCT to PCPK, Nagpur. Building on this momentum, Indian Railways in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki achieved a key milestone by dispatching the 100th rake from Manesar GCT on 22nd August, 2025. Over the last five years, the Rail coefficient for automobile traffic has risen significantly from 17.1% to 27.6%. This achievement underscores the Division’s operational excellence and its strategic role in strengthening the automobile supply chain across the region.
This achievement marks a landmark in the green logistics journey of Indian Railways’ Delhi Division. The sustained efforts will not only decongest roads but also substantially reduce carbon emissions, aligning with India’s vision of sustainable and efficient transportation.India’s largest automobile in-plant railway Gati Shakti Terminal at Maruti Suzuki India Limited’s (MSIL) Manesar facility was inaugurated on 17th July, 2025 by Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini.
