The Seva Setu platform has grown into one of the biggest digital public service delivery initiatives in Assam, according to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who revealed the state’s plans to quickly enhance its digital governance environment. With the addition of more than 800 online government services, the platform has made governance more efficient, open, and focused on the people.
According to the Chief Minister, who shared the update on social media, Seva Setu has already provided over 1.5 crore services. He hailed the program as a watershed moment in making life easier for the general public by providing them with digital access to government services rather than requiring them to physically visit various government buildings.
By bringing together three Autonomous Sixth Schedule Councils and forty-seven other government agencies, the Seva Setu portal has provided a unified digital hub for numerous public services. The portal has reportedly attained a service disposal rate of 90%, indicating improved efficiency in service delivery, according to the state administration.
Redressal of citizen grievances has also been enhanced by the platform. The portal has improved government administration’s responsiveness and accountability by resolving over 94,000 public concerns, at an overall rate of 86%.
Integrating Seva Setu with DigiLocker improves digital convenience by giving citizens safe online access to and storage for official documents. Customers can also get in touch with government agencies through their mobile devices by downloading the UMANG app.
According to the chief minister, this program will help achieve the goals of Digital India by facilitating more open, transparent, and tech-driven government. The announcement was made during the festivities commemorating the eleventh anniversary of the Digital India program, and it underscores Assam’s ongoing dedication to digital transformation.
