The full 300 MW capacity of NLC India Limited’s (NLCIL) Barsingsar Solar Power Project in Rajasthan has been put into service, helping the country achieve its renewable energy targets.
This project, which was created under the CPSU Scheme, is NLCIL’s largest solar power project to date. It consists of 52.83 MW from phase one and 106 MW from phase two.
NLCIL currently has 1,766 MW of renewable energy capacity, increasing its total generation capacity to 7,726 MW. Utilising locally produced solar PV modules, the project supports sustainable growth and is in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat plan.
It would increase Rajasthan’s mix of renewable energy sources by supplying electricity to the state. The chairman of NLCIL highlighted the project’s importance in promoting clean energy and India’s sustainability objective, which was further reinforced by the Union Minister of Coal & Mines’ acknowledgement.
