The esteemed Einstein World Records Recognition has been bestowed upon Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Limited (NLCIL), for his forward-thinking decision to institute free bus transportation for school students in Neyveli Township. This welfare initiative has revolutionised the access to education for thousands of children. Dr. J. Monica Roshinee, Co-Founder of Einstein World Records, gave the award on 30 June 2026 at the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Hall in Neyveli. The event was attended by functional directors of NLC India, senior officials, teachers, and students from NLCIL schools.
The everyday travel of school children in Neyveli Township has been greatly improved since the free transport scheme was introduced in August 2024 under the leadership of Prasanna Kumar Motupalli.
In order to make sure that students can commute easily and affordably to school, the program offers safe, dependable, and free transportation to schools.
This is one of the biggest education-focused humanitarian programs that NLC India has run, with an estimated benefit of approximately 30,000 schoolchildren.
At the award ceremony, a girl from NLC Girls Higher Secondary School, Block-11, spoke about how the free bus service had helped her family financially and let her get to school on time every day without incident.
The testimonies showed how the program helped thousands of families in Neyveli Township and how it had a broader social impact.
A teacher at that school brought attention to the fact that many parents, especially those with daughters, feel more comfortable enrolling their children in Neyveli schools now that free transport is available.
Thousands of children’s lives have been positively affected by the program, according to Dr. J. Monica Roshinee, Co-Founder of Einstein World Records, who presented the honour.
Prasanna Kumar Motupalli is a visionary leader at NLC India, she said, and the organization is lucky to have him. His decisions show empathy, dedication, and care for the community.
Furthermore, she urged her students to have lofty goals, never give up, and strive to be transformational leaders.
