PNB Names Sushil Katara as Part-Time Director

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has informed the stock exchanges that the Central Government has nominated Shri Sushil Katara as a Part-Time Non-Official Director on its Board. The Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, issued the nomination through Notification No. eF.No. 6/2/2026-BO.I/1 dated October 9, 2026.

The appointment falls under clause (h) of sub-section (3) of Section 9 of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970.

PNB Director Appointment for Three Years

Shri Sushil Katara will serve as Part-Time Non-Official Director for three years from the date of the notification or until further orders, whichever comes first.

The bank has confirmed that Katara has no inter-se relationship with any other director on its Board. It has also stated that no authority has debarred him from holding the office of director.

PNB will submit his brief profile separately.

Nomination Disclosed Under SEBI Regulations

The bank disclosed the nomination under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. Company Secretary Bikramjit Shom signed the intimation and submitted it to the National Stock Exchange, where PNB trades under the scrip code PNB, and BSE Limited, under scrip code 532461.

The nomination adds a Part-Time Non-Official Director to the bank’s Board through a Central Government appointment. Further details about Katara’s professional background are expected in the separate profile that the bank has said it will submit.
