NTPC Executive Director Sameer Sharma has assumed charge as Head of Project at NTPC Dadri, bringing over 38 years of experience in power-sector operations, project management and corporate functions.
NTPC Dadri has a new Head of Project as Shri Sameer Sharma, Executive Director, assumed charge of the position on October 5, 2026.
Shri Sharma brings more than 38 years of experience with NTPC. His career covers power-sector operations, project management, technical functions and corporate leadership.
NTPC Dadri Leadership
Shri Sharma holds a B.E. in Electronics Engineering from Ravi Shankar University, Raipur. He completed the degree in 1988. He later pursued an M.Tech. in Management & Systems from IIT Delhi, where he completed the programme with academic distinction.
He joined NTPC on August 24, 1988, as an Executive Trainee. Since then, he has held several roles across the organisation. His career progression eventually led to his elevation as Executive Director.
Shri Sharma began his career in the Control & Instrumentation (C&I) function. He later gained experience in Maintenance, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), project leadership, corporate functions and Information Technology (IT).
NTPC Dadri Head Brings Diverse Experience
During his long association with NTPC, Shri Sharma has served at several major power establishments. These include Vindhyachal, Barauni and Simhadri.
His tenure at Vindhyachal strengthened his experience in large-scale power-station operations. He later served as Head of Project at Simhadri, where he gained further experience in project management and power-plant operations.
Shri Sharma subsequently moved to NTPC Corporate Centre in Noida. There, he led the IT function and expanded his experience across corporate operations.
His technical background, management education and extensive experience across NTPC’s power stations and corporate functions have given him a diverse professional profile.
Focus on Operational Excellence
With his new role at NTPC Dadri, Shri Sharma begins another phase of his professional journey.
His extensive experience is expected to support operational excellence, teamwork, innovation and safety at the project. His leadership will also contribute to strengthening organisational performance at NTPC Dadri.
