NTPC Bongaigaon Marks Earth Day with Tree Plantation Drive

In observance of World Earth Day, the Bongaigaon unit of NTPC Limited organised a plantation drive with the motto “Our Power, Our Planet.” This event served to further emphasise the company’s dedication to good business practices and environmental preservation.

In the presence of senior officials from various ministries, Arnab Maitra planted saplings to begin the environmental management group’s (EMG) initiative.

Contributing to biodiversity protection and greener infrastructure development, the initiative included the planting of over 30 saplings throughout the township and plant. These saplings included both native and fruit-bearing varieties.

Speaking to the audience, Maitra stressed that combating climate change and protecting ecosystems requires everyone’s help. The importance of employee engagement in supporting sustainable practices in operations and daily life was also emphasised by him.

Integrating sustainability into operational frameworks and encouraging community and workforce participation in ecological conservation efforts, the project mirrors NTPC’s broader environmental stewardship policy.
