NLCIL ORGANISES A MEGA MASS CLEANLINESS DRIVE AS PART OF SWACHHATA PAKHWADA

CLEANLINESS IS GODLINESS, DECLARES PRASANNA KUMAR MOTUPALLI, CMD, NLCIL

New Delhi, June 25: NLC India Limited organised a mass cleanliness campaign on 24.06.2025 across Neyveli Township and simultaneously in all its projects and Regional Office, Chennai, as part of the Swachhata fortnight, in line with the directives of Government of India.

Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL,along with Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) and P&P (Addl.Charge), Samir Swarup, Director (HR) and M. Venkatachalam, Director (Power) actively participated in the mass cleanliness drive at Neyveli Township.

Addressing the enthusiastic participants on the occasion, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL, stated that maintaining a clean environment was akin to spiritual purity as exemplified by the proverb “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.” He also emphasized the importance of practicing rather than preaching. He proudly pointed out that NLCIL was at the forefront in upholding consistency between words and actions by observing the Swachhata drive with vigour and purpose at all its Units, Offices and its township.

The Mass Cleaning Programme in Neyveli Township was meticulously planned and carried out simultaneously at multiple locations of Main Bazaar, surrounding residential areas, Schools and public places.

Senior Officials and Employees of NLCIL, Representatives of Recognised Unions, Associations, Welfare Federations, WIPS, CISF personnel, Teachers and Students from various schools of Neyveli & the general public enthusiastically participated in the Mass Cleaning Campaign.

NLC India Limited organised various impactful initiatives over the fortnight across its project offices and Units in Neyveli and outside projects. As part of the campaign, cleaning drives, awareness rallies, plastic ban awareness programmes and tree plantations were also undertaken at NLC India Limited’s various offices and projects.

The campaign of cleanliness carried out assiduously by NLCIL is in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a “Viksit Bharat” and to honour the legacy of the Father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
