NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference on January 12, 2026.
The MoU, signed by NLCIL’s Executive Director Devendra Pratap Singh and Gujarat’s Joint Secretary Bhakthi Shamal, aims to develop large-scale Renewable Energy (RE) projects, including Solar, Wind, Hybrid, and Battery Energy Storage, with a potential investment of approximately ₹25,000 crore, creating substantial employment opportunities.
This initiative is spearheaded by NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a subsidiary dedicated to green energy growth, aligning with NLCIL’s Corporate Plan to achieve 10 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by 2030.
The MoU facilitates obtaining necessary approvals and clearances from the Gujarat Government to ensure timely project implementation, reinforcing Gujarat’s status as a renewable energy hub and contributing to India’s targets of achieving Net Zero emissions and increasing non-fossil fuel power generation.
