NALCO Eye Care Centre Moves Closer to Operationalisation in Angul

NALCO Eye Care Centre at NALCO Nagar, Angul, has moved closer to operationalisation after NALCO Foundation signed an addendum with LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), Hyderabad.

National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has taken a major step towards operationalising the NALCO Eye Care Centre at NALCO Nagar, Angul. The company signed an addendum to its existing agreement with LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), Hyderabad.

The facility is part of NALCO’s CSR efforts to improve access to quality healthcare in its peripheral villages. It will provide specialised and affordable eye care services to people in the region.

NALCO Eye Care Centre Set for Early Operationalisation

NALCO and LVPEI had earlier established the infrastructure for a modern eye care facility at Angul. However, operational challenges delayed the start of services.

Following a comprehensive review, both organisations have addressed the key operational issues. The addendum is expected to pave the way for the Centre’s operationalisation within the next few months.

NALCO Foundation and LVPEI Sign Addendum

The addendum was signed between NALCO Foundation, the CSR wing of NALCO, and LVPEI, Hyderabad, at NALCO’s Corporate Office.

Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD, Directors of NALCO, Dr Prashant Garg, Executive Chair of LVPEI, and senior officials from both organisations were present during the signing.

Under the revised arrangement, NALCO Foundation and LVPEI will work together to expedite the operationalisation of the NALCO Eye Care Centre. LVPEI will undertake the operation and management of the facility.

LVPEI is recognised for its expertise in eye care services. The institute also operates a tertiary eye care centre in Bhubaneswar.

Eye Care Services to Benefit Nearby Districts

The operationalisation of the Centre is expected to improve access to specialised ophthalmic services in Angul and neighbouring areas.

The facility will offer quality eye care at affordable and subsidised rates. It will particularly benefit communities living in NALCO’s peripheral villages.

Once operational, the Centre is expected to serve as a regional eye care hub for Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Boudh and neighbouring districts.

The facility will strengthen access to specialised eye care services and support healthcare infrastructure in the region.
