LIC Announces Senior Management Change

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has re-designated Smt. Sonija M.S. as Chief (In-charge) (Finance & Accounts) at its Central Office in Mumbai, effective October 8, 2026. The Corporation disclosed the change to the stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

With the new designation, Sonija M.S. now falls under the definition of Senior Management Personnel (SMP) of LIC. Before this change, she served as Chief (Taxation Cell) at the Corporation’s Central Office.

LIC Re-designates Senior Finance Official

Sonija M.S. joined LIC in 1993 as a Direct Recruit Officer. She is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and has over three decades of experience across different functions within the Corporation.

During her career, she has handled Finance and Accounts and worked in the Investment Department, managing debt and project portfolios as well as stressed assets. Her experience also includes assignments in Claims, Office Services and Personnel.

She has also served as Secretary in the Insurance Ombudsman office, where she handled the resolution of complaints and disputes relating to insurance claim settlements.

Before her re-designation, she was responsible for Taxation, Income Tax, GST and the Provident Fund Trust as Chief. Her new role places her in charge of Finance and Accounts at LIC’s Central Office.

Management Change to Stock Exchanges

LIC submitted the intimation under the applicable disclosure requirements. The Corporation also stated that disclosure of relationships between directors was not applicable.

The official disclosure was issued on October 8, 2026, under reference number LIC/SE/2026-27/105 and is available on the Corporation’s website.
