IREDA Signs Performance-Based MoU with MNRE for FY 2026-27

IREDA has signed a performance-based MoU with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) to set strategic targets for FY 2026-27.

The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has signed a performance-based Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) for FY 2026-27.

The MoU was signed at Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi by MNRE Secretary Santosh Kumar Sarangi and IREDA Chairman and Managing Director Dr Bijay Kumar Mohanty.

Joint Secretary, MNRE, Anupam Kumar, and senior officials from both organisations were also present at the signing ceremony.

IREDA Sets Performance Targets

The IREDA MoU lays down performance targets for the financial year 2026-27. It aims to align the agency’s operations with the government’s broader renewable energy and clean-energy objectives.

Following the signing, Dr Mohanty thanked MNRE for its continued guidance and support. He said the IREDA team would work towards achieving the targets and contribute to the goal of Viksit Bharat.

IREDA’s Role in Renewable Energy Financing

The annual performance MoU is significant as IREDA remains a key public-sector financing institution supporting India’s renewable energy sector.

The agency provides financing and other financial services for renewable energy and clean-energy projects. Its role supports the expansion of India’s renewable energy ecosystem and the country’s broader clean-energy transition.
