Swachhta Pakhwada 2026, a fortnight-long cleanliness campaign to be held from July 1 to July 15, was launched on Wednesday by IndianOil’s Northern Region (NR) and Delhi State Office (DSO). The campaign aims to reinforce the company’s commitment to the Swachh Bharat Mission and environmental sustainability. Sailesh Kumar, Assistant Director of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG), and Hemant Rathore, Executive Director of the Northern Region and State Head of the Delhi State Office of IndianOil, administered the Swachhta Pledge in New Delhi to inaugurate the campaign and reaffirm the commitment to cleanliness and responsible civic behaviour.
Dignitaries set sail from Green Park in New Delhi aboard the ‘Swachhta Rath’ to raise awareness about the importance of personal hygiene, proper waste management and the elimination of single-use plastics as it makes its way throughout the city.
Public outreach programs and Nukkad Nataks (street dramas) will be a part of the awareness campaign to get people involved in keeping their communities clean and practicing eco-conscious habits.
In addition to launching cleanliness campaigns, the dignitaries planted and distributed saplings to further emphasise the significance of increasing green cover and encouraging sustainable lifestyles.
At the event, Hemant Rathore called on all parties involved to do their bit in the campaign and bring about the “Swachh Bharat” goal by taking personal responsibility and working together.
Aligning with the Government of India’s nationwide efforts to promote sanitation, cleanliness, and ecological conservation, the Swachhta Pakhwada program showcases IndianOil’s ongoing dedication to environmental stewardship, community participation, and sustainable development.
Cleaner cities, less plastic waste, and a healthier environment are goals of IndianOil’s public awareness campaigns, behavioural change initiatives, and staff involvement.
