India Shielded Consumers from Global Oil Shocks: Hardeep Puri

Hardeep Singh Puri, the minister of petroleum, said that India had effectively protected common people from the erratic fluctuations in energy prices throughout the world. According to the Union Minister, the government intervened at the appropriate moment to effectively regulate fuel supplies.

During the India Energy Week 2026 conclusion in Goa, the minister stated that the nation did not pass on the wild fluctuations of the global market to local purchasers. He makes the point that even in the face of major political upheavals, families were still able to afford fuel and LPG.

Hardeep Singh Puri claims that India holds some of the cheapest energy rates on the map today. He says that the nation made sure the lights stayed on and cars kept running without any supply disruptions.

According to Hardeep Singh Puri, the administration is determined to promote greener energy sources, including green hydrogen and compressed biogas. He said biofuels and ethanol mixing will expand alongside conventional fuels.

Neeraj Mittal, the petroleum secretary, cautions that a growing economy would inevitably increase demand for energy. He claims that in order to meet this growing need for electricity, the nation needs to extract more oil domestically.

Smart tech and digital tools play a big part in decreasing expenses, a notion echoed by the ministry helmed by Hardeep Singh Puri. The Secretary notes that employing new systems makes the whole energy industry perform better and faster.
