IEPFA Showcases New Digital Claim Processing Portal

The Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) has begun preparations for the rollout of its Integrated IEPFA Portal 2.0, aimed at making investor claim processing faster, simpler and more digitally driven.

IEPFA, under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, organised a stakeholder engagement session with Companies’ Nodal Officers in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD). The session focused on demonstrating the proposed Claimant and e-Verification Report (EVR) modules and gathering feedback before the new portal is launched.

The session was led by Anita Shah Akella, CEO of IEPFA and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, along with senior IEPFA officials, members of the NeGD project team and Companies’ Nodal Officers.

During the session, participants were given a walkthrough of the upgraded portal and its digital features designed to simplify the investor claim process and improve operational efficiency.

Key features of IEPFA Portal 2.0 include digital KYC integration, a pre-filled Form IEPF-5, an entitlement search facility and a simplified three-step process for filing e-Verification Reports. The portal will also include provisions related to Rule 7(3) concerning additional or delay fees.

Portal rollout planned for November

IEPFA has outlined a phased implementation plan for the new portal. User Acceptance Testing is scheduled for August 2026, stakeholder training in September and pilot implementation in October, followed by the planned launch of the Integrated IEPFA Portal 2.0 in November 2026.

Companies’ Nodal Officers also provided recommendations based on their operational experience with the existing processes.

Suggestions included Aadhaar eKYC based address validation against company records, mandatory KYC verification for authorised representatives and a detailed validation checklist before entitlement letters are issued.

Stakeholders also proposed bulk Digital Signature Certificate and eSign capabilities, integration of approved IEPF Form-4 data into the EVR module and share valuation using NSE and BSE data, with the lower value being applied.

Another recommendation focused on using automated alerts to identify frequent changes in addresses as a potential fraud prevention measure.

The feedback received during the engagement session has been forwarded to the NeGD team for consideration as the portal is finalised.

The stakeholder consultation is part of IEPFA’s broader effort to develop the Integrated IEPFA Portal 2.0 through continued engagement with Companies’ Nodal Officers and other stakeholders.

The Authority said the upgraded platform is intended to use technology to simplify claim settlement, improve transparency and service delivery, and create a more secure and investor focused digital ecosystem.

IEPFA, under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, works to promote investor awareness and protection through investor education, outreach programmes and collaborations. The Authority continues to introduce technology driven measures aimed at improving claim settlement and strengthening investor services across India.
