HPCL and Thermax Join Hands to Drive Clean Energy Innovation at IEW 2026

At India Energy Week (IEW) 2026 in Goa, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Thermax inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on clean and new energy technology.

By creating and promoting cutting-edge low-carbon solutions, the partnership seeks to assist India’s energy transition. As part of the agreement, the two businesses will work on technologies such as HP AEM electrolysers, carbon dioxide (CO₂) capture systems, and bio-pyrolysis oil processing. Under the MoU, HPCL will lend its process innovation and research and development capabilities, while Thermax will contribute its engineering expertise and experience in industrial-scale implementation. According to the corporations, the collaboration should aid in converting cutting-edge technologies into scalable and profitable solutions.

The deal also reaffirms both companies’ dedication to the “Make in India” campaign, which emphasises the development of domestic technology that can lessen reliance on imports and promote sustainable growth. HPCL and Thermax said the collaboration coincides with the broader national purpose of advancing clean, affordable and low-carbon energy systems, and would play a role in helping Bharat’s long-term energy security and climate goals.
