Engineers India commissions Visakh Refinery RUF

The commissioning of the Residue Upgradation Facility (RUF) at HPCL’s Visakh Refinery, featuring the world’s first and largest LC-Max unit, marks a major milestone in India’s refining sector.

Engineers India Limited (EIL), as Project Management Consultant, delivered end-to-end project management services for this globally benchmarked facility under the Visakh Refinery Modernization Project (VRMP), with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) as the EPC contractor.

The 3.55 MMTPA facility deploys LC-Max technology at an unprecedented scale, enabling around 93% conversion of residue into high-value distillates, significantly enhancing refinery margins and complexity.

The successful commissioning reflects strong collaboration among all stakeholders and reinforces EIL’s capability in delivering complex, large-scale energy projects aligned with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
