As part of the Paradip–Numaligarh Crude Oil Pipeline project, Engineers India Limited (EIL) has successfully finished the longest horizontal directional drilling (HDD) crossing in the world, spanning more than 4 kilometres beneath the Brahmaputra River for a 26-inch pipeline.
At 4,058 metres, the milestone is higher than EIL’s previous record of 4,027 metres set in the Ganga River. This accomplishment demonstrates EIL’s superior technical and operational skills in demanding settings.
In order to improve India’s energy security and foster regional economic growth, the 1,635-kilometre Paradip–Numaligarh pipeline will carry imported crude oil from Paradip port to Assam.
The achievement, which EIL credited to good cooperation with Numaligarh Refinery Limited and other stakeholders, was a major step forward in the Northeast region’s development initiatives. EIL was founded in 1965 and uses its technical knowledge and experience to specialise in engineering consulting and project management for the oil, gas, petrochemical, and other industries.
