At Bharat Mandapam, the 32nd Foundation Day of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) was commemorated, marking yet another landmark in the history of urban mobility in India.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta of Delhi and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs of India Tokhan Sahu were among those in attendance. Honouring their long-term support for the Delhi Metro project, senior representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japanese Embassy in India were also present.
In a letter of congratulations, Manohar Lal Khattar, the Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs and Power, praised the expansion of India’s metro networks, mentioning that 26 cities have 26 stations with more than 1,150 kilometres of operating lines. Phase 4 and Phase 5A corridors are still moving along, according to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who also offered an important update.
At the Foundation Day celebration, DMRC reiterated its dedication to serving the millions of daily commuters in the Delhi NCR area with safe, dependable, and environmentally conscious transportation while reflecting on its journey since operations started in 2002.
The event showcased the organization’s goals for India’s urban transport system and the unwavering faith of passengers.
