Delhi Airport Chaos: 400+ Flights Affected After Major ATC System Glitch

Flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport faced significant disruptions on Friday due to a technical fault in the Air Traffic Control system, affecting over 400 flights across multiple airlines, including Indigo and Air India.

The issue, linked to the Automatic Message Switching System, is being resolved, but delays are expected to continue. Both airlines issued statements advising passengers to check for flight updates and expressing regret for the inconvenience.

Passengers experienced extended waiting times at the airport and onboard, prompting them to monitor their flight statuses and arrive early. Previous minor disruptions earlier in the week were unrelated but had also caused delays. Authorities are working to restore full operational capability.
