The DPSU Performance Review will be conducted by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on September 1, 2026, covering 16 Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs). The annual review will assess the performance of Defence PSUs and focus on developing indigenous technologies, strengthening capabilities and increasing defence exports.
DPSU Performance Review Covers 16 Defence PSUs
The DPSU Performance Review will take place in New Delhi and bring together the CMDs of 16 Defence PSUs. During the programme, CMDs of seven DPSUs will present dividend cheques to the Raksha Mantri for the Government’s equity shares for FY 2025-26.
The seven DPSUs are Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE), BEML and Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI).
DPSU Performance Review Highlights FY26 Growth
The performance of Defence PSUs remained strong in FY 2025-26. Their combined turnover reached Rs. 1.29 lakh crore, representing a 15.4% increase over FY 2024-25.
Cumulative Profit After Tax of the DPSUs stood at Rs. 23,136 crore during FY 2025-26. This marked a 15.6% increase compared with the previous financial year.
DPSU Exports Rise 151.2%
Defence exports recorded a major increase during FY 2025-26. DPSUs achieved a 151.2% rise in exports over the previous financial year.
The increase supports the government’s objective of strengthening India’s position in the global defence market. The DPSU Performance Review will also focus on expanding indigenous technology and improving the export capabilities of Defence PSUs.
Four Books to Be Released at Review
Rajnath Singh will also release four books during the programme. These include Aatmanirbhar DPSU – A Journey of DPSUs Towards Self-Reliance and DISHA, an initiative aimed at giving students hands-on awareness of defence technologies and modern manufacturing processes.
The other two publications cover the modernisation roadmap and indigenisation roadmap of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
DPSU Performance Review Focuses on Self-Reliance
The annual review highlights the government’s focus on strengthening domestic defence manufacturing. Greater emphasis on indigenous technologies, modern manufacturing and exports is expected to support India’s self-reliance in defence.
The latest DPSU Performance Review comes against the backdrop of strong financial and export growth among Defence PSUs. Higher turnover, increased profits and a sharp rise in exports underline the expanding role of DPSUs in India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.
